Post from Apartment Therapy with a sneak peek of the kids rooms from the new catalog. Features some pretty cool (cheap and easy) DIY projects.
Our new bedroom will celebrate our adventurous spirit, present and past. Even before we met, travel was our big passion. Neither one of us has ever been shy about packing up and moving somewhere new. We’re not super active people either, we just never get bored.
Having a living room with two stunning window views really helps. Yesterday I took one set of curtains down and it really opened up the view and made the window more architectural.
Yesterday we went paint shopping. I think a taupe accent wall will be a nice contrast with our red door, slanted pine ceiling and dark wood beams. The ceiling here at its highest point is 5 meters high!
I’ve been dying to have a trunk coffee table for years, and a week before I left Rome to move to Switzerland I found one in the trash. Can’t wait to try it out.
And a gallery wall is a great excuse to start collecting random vintage paintings, a fun project that can last for years.
With more time on my hands I’m gravitating towards the one thing I’ve restrained myself from pursuing: DIY. I’m famous for having good ideas that I can’t put into practice. The finished result is never as nice, as polished and amazing as expected. I’m just one of those people who would be better off commissioning ideas to someone more handy and with more patience than myself. I am however, dying to give it another try. These are some projects I have in mind at the moment. They may involve spray paint, wallpaper, and curtains. Wish me luck.
